Patients with schizophrenia, bipolar I disorder (manic depression), or major depressive disorder are prescribed the medication Abilify, which is available only by prescription from a physician. In addition to Abilify, Abilify may be taken with other medications. As a treatment for both psychosis and manic episodes, Abilify is a possible option. So what is abilify used for?
How the Medicine Works
Aripiprazole is a medicine that may be used to treat mental disorders such as schizophrenia, which are characterised by unusual or weird thinking, a lack of interest in life, and powerful or inappropriate emotions. Adults and teenagers over the age of 13 may use this drug to treat schizophrenia symptoms. Adults, teens, and children 10 years of age and older with bipolar illness may use it to treat manic or mixed episodes (manic and depressive symptoms occurring concurrently). It is possible to use this therapy alone or in conjunction with other drugs. Aripiprazole is often used in conjunction with an antidepressant to treat depression symptoms that are not responding to the antidepressant alone.
It’s not clear how to utilise this drug
As a pill (tablet), as a liquid (solution), or as an orally disintegrating tablet; aripiprazole may be taken by mouth (which is a tablet that dissolves fast in the mouth). Take it once a day, either with or without meals. Alternatively, a sensor-enabled tablet of apriprazole is available for adult use and comprises a tablet that must be eaten orally in order to provide information on how the medication is used. Apiprazole should be taken every day at the same time, no matter how busy your schedule becomes. Take your prescription exactly as prescribed, and if you don’t understand anything on the label, ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain it to you. Follow your doctor’s instructions very closely while using aripiprazole. Do not take more or less of it, or take it more often than your physician has prescribed.
Last Words
You shouldn’t try to press the pill through the foil since it dissolves in the mouth. Instead, use dry hands to take away the foil wrapping. Remove the pill from its package as soon as possible and swallow it whole. The tablet should not be broken in half. The pill dissolves quickly and doesn’t need any extra liquid to be eaten. The orally disintegrating tablet may be taken with a beverage if it is absolutely necessary.
