Each new client who joins one of our gyms receives a free fitness assessment at their first and second sessions.
You may be asking, “Why not start with an assessment?”
Each client who enters an Apex Performance receives a customized fitness program. This assessment provides data to the coach about their abilities and highlights where the program should start.
We will be walking you through the three-step assessment so that you are fully prepared for when you enter any Apex Performance.
Why should you assess?
Let’s first discuss why fitness is important.
Apex Performances are different from other gyms in that we offer personal fitness. Our model allows you to work with your coach one-on-one for as long as it takes. Each week, the coach will create a customized training program for you, taking into account your goals, abilities, and schedule.
As we said, coaching is only possible if they get to know you. This understanding is gained through the assessment. The three-part assessment examines body composition, movement ability, work capacity and gives your coach all the information they need to design a customized program.
The Apex Performance Assessment in 3 Parts
1 Body Composition
Your coach will first assess your body composition. This process is easy and non-invasive thanks to the InBody machine. InBody will then print a sheet with your body analysis data after the assessment is completed. With this information, both you and your coach will have metrics to help you track your progress.
2 Movement Assessment
The movement assessment follows the body composition assessment. Your coach will guide you through a variety of movements and require you to perform them to a specific standard. Your coach will assess your movement patterns, mobility, core endurance, as well as your core strength and identify any weaknesses in your exercise program.
3) Work Capacity Assessment
Your coach will also assess your work ability. This initial assessment will include the 10 minute Max Calories test on the AirBike. You may need to test your work capacity further depending on your goals.
Your coach will show you how to set up the AirBike and help you get it ready for the test. Once you feel comfortable and set up, they will give the go signal. You’ll be working to burn as many calories as you can over the next 10 minutes.
This test gives your coach a glimpse into your work capabilities, showing you what is possible to improve and what is already great. There is no right or wrong score, just your effort to improve.
4) It’s time to train
Your coach will use the information to create a customized training program for you once the assessment is completed. The assessment does not end there. Your coach will continue to assess your fitness every few months to monitor progress and ensure that your program remains as effective as possible.
Now it’s time for your assessment
Because they care about you, our coaches will assess your capabilities to help achieve your fitness goals.
They use the data to create the best exercise program possible.
Get the best possible chance to reach your fitness goals by working with an Apex Performance coach in a gym near you.
